Do I need to be a PADI certified diver to go scuba diving?
To explore the vibrant underwater world, becoming a PADI certified diver is essential for completing most dives, as it ensures you have the skills and knowledge to safely navigate the ocean's wonders. However, if you’re not ready to dive into certification just yet, don’t fret! You can still dip your toes into the depths with a discovery dive, where you'll get a taste of scuba diving under the guidance of a certified instructor. It’s the perfect way to experience the magic of the sea while getting a feel for what being a certified diver is all about!
How deep do you go and how long are the dives?
Diving is about exploring underwater worlds that fit your skills, like a treasure map ready to be discovered! As you dive within your certification limits, every second matters. With a maximum dive time of 60 minutes, take in the beautiful corals and fascinating marine life around you. Keep an eye on your air supply and ascent times, and enjoy the excitement of the ocean while using your skills for a safe and fun experience.
What if the weather is bad and the trip is cancelled?
If the weather takes a turn for the worse and the port closes due to strong winds that make diving unsafe, don’t fret! You’ll receive a full refund or a credit for another day—whichever you prefer. Your excitement is important to us, so we want to make sure your adventure doesn’t get swept away by Mother Nature! Whether you choose to reschedule for another fun-filled day or take back your bucks, we've got you covered. Safety first, fun second!
What should I do if it’s been a while since my last dive and I’m apprehensive?
If it’s been a while since your last dive or if you’re feeling a bit nervous about getting back in the water, a refresher dive is the perfect way to shake off those jitters and boost your confidence! This gentle experience helps you brush up on essential skills, ensuring that you feel comfortable and competent as you explore the underwater world. Plus, it’s a fantastic opportunity to reconnect with your gear, get familiar with the surrounding environment, and reignite that passionate spark for diving. So, don’t hesitate to dive back in—your next adventure awaits with clear waters and vibrant sea life!
What should I do if I’m separated from my buddy?
I’ve never had it happen, but should you get separated from your buddy, use this procedure: ascend a little, and spend not more than one minute looking for bubbles. Your buddy might just be behind that rock. If you can’t see them, end the dive and head to the surface. It’s not an emergency so go slow, but this is a case where you can skip your safety stop. As you’re ascending, deploy your DSMB if you have one. If you don’t, purge your alternate regulator around you as you approach the surface, you want to be as visible as possible to boats. As you surface, inflate your bcd, and wait for the group to come get you.
